MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY SERVICE INFO

Pedro Pelayo, born February 27, 1944, in Belize to Pedro and Barbara Crispina Rivero. He was the second oldest son and the third oldest child of twelve children. His siblings are Lydia, Jorge, Linda, Glenda, Alfonso (deceased), Lourdes, Dolores, Orlando, Sylvia, Augustine and Brenda.  Pedge as we called him grew up between Victoria and Cleghorn St. in the Haylock's yard in Belize City, Belize.  Pedge and I were always close and I have precious and fond memories of the times we spent together here in Belize before he migrated to California and when he came back home to visit his beloved Belize or when I visited him in Los Angeles. Pedge was a quiet, observant, generous, friendly and very witty person who was loved by all those who came in contact with him. He was a good husband and father who provided for and loved his family and knew well the responsibilities it entailed since our father died at a young age and Pedge took over his role as father to his brothers and sisters and even more so when they all migrated to California. Family was EVERYTHING to Pedge and he lectured whenever necessary, gave advice even though it might not be what the person wanted to hear, brought humor to a situation and helped wherever and however he could! He opened his home without hesitation to family from far and near and gave of his time, possessions and self willingly.  Even though he did not meet my children until they were young adults he welcomed them without hesitation simply stating, " Deh da my bredda children, deh da blood!" His kindness to us all has never gone unnoticed and we shall forever be grateful for having had the opportunity to have been a part of his life! At his passing we take solace in the fact that there is no more suffering and pain and that he is at peace.

As I write my heart is heavy with sorrow that my sister Lydia and I due to medical restraints cannot be there in Los Angeles in person, but we surely are there in heart and spirit as we bid farewell to our dear brother. This is one beloved brother we will surely miss but I know we will meet again in that place that the Lord has prepared for us. You fought the good fight, Pedge, goodbye my brother until we meet again.....
