MESSAGE FROM THE FAMILY SERVICE INFO
Karen Nicolette Alexander Orange, better known as Nikki, was born on December 20, 1954 in Austin, Texas to the union of Alice and Robert Alexander.  She was the younger sister of Cynthia and the older sister of Bobby. The family moved from Texas to Los Angeles, California.  In 1969, Nikki moved with her father to Atlanta, Georgia where she spent her high school years.

After high school, Nikki moved back to Los Angeles. She began her working career as a store manager at Broadway Department Store. Through the years she held numerous jobs including Cedars- Sinai Medical Center until she became an employee of The University of Southern California. At USC she worked for many years in the Health Plans and Benefits departments until she became ill.

In 1990, while riding the bus to work, Nikki met the love of her life, Herbert Orange Jr. The two fell in love and were married.  Nikki dreamed of being a mother and they began a family welcoming their two beautiful daughters: Danielle and Alea. Nikki was a loving and devoted mother who dedicated her life to her family. She wore motherhood as a badge of honor seeing her children as her greatest achievement. Life was good.  The family was active at St. Anselm Catholic Church. She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and instilled the value of prayer and reverence of God in her girls.

Nikki had a sweet disposition.  She was always positive, full of encouragement, loved to laugh and dance. Her love reached into the lives of many leaving a heartwarming impression as her contribution to their life, which one day, like hers will come full circle.

On April 30, 2015 during a peaceful sleep, Nikki went home to be with The Lord. She is preceded in death by her mother Alice, sister Cynthia and husband Herb.  She is survived by her two daughters Danielle and Alea; her father Robert (Irene);  brothers Robert and Kebran; sister Leah; sister-in-law Beverly (Larry);  stepdaughters Shanda, Kathy and Karen; niece Luna; nephews Coleman and Michael;  grand-daughter Mila Sky;  a host of aunts, cousins, loved ones and friends.
